Kelowna, BC and Surrey, BC:
After some more driving through the Rockies we finally arrived in the Okanagan Valley. We decided to stay at the University of British Columbia’s Okanagan campus as we enjoyed our previous stay in a residence in Sudbury, so thought it would be a good idea to try again.
The added bonus was that we all got our own rooms, giving us some much needed space. Milo in particular loved that he got a key of his own and could lock his room.
After all the driving and exploring we had done so far, we decided to take a little break and just chill out, skipping the trails and hikes and sight-seeing. This gave me the opportunity to take the car in for a much needed service appointment, which came with a complimentary car wash, and some broken trim. 🙁
Next we travelled to Surrey.
We knew we were going to miss the CNE in Toronto this year so we tried to time our stay in the Vancouver area with the Pacific National Exhibition. We made it for opening day, and discovered that we could get in for free if we had the Pokemon Go app installed on our cell phone, which was a nice bonus.
The PNE was like a scaled down version of the Ex, and the kids enjoyed their fill of cotton candy and played some games. We also enjoyed a colourful show with people in flowery costumes, and an animatronic dinosaur exhibit.
